Lloyd Loom furniture invented in the U.S.A. and has been made in Britain since 1922. The factory closed after the Second World War but reopened in 1981 in Spalding, Lincolnshire. In appearance the product partly resembles hand woven wicker, but Lloyd Loom furniture uses a unique process involving the weaving of twisted paper and paper covered wire. That means it can be finished in hundreds of different colours and styles and since 2006 has been available in an "all weather" form for outside use.
